A useful WordPress quote explains what will be delivered and what it will cost to operate. There is no single substantiated price that applies to every Singapore business website. Page count alone misses differences in design, content, integrations and editorial workflow.
Ask suppliers to price the same scope
| Cost area | What the quote should specify |
|---|---|
| Design and build | Templates, responsive layouts, accessibility and revision scope |
| Content | Copywriting, media preparation, migration and entry responsibilities |
| Functionality | Forms, search, commerce, languages and external integrations |
| Hosting | Resource limits, backups, recovery, updates and support |
| Licences | Theme and plugin subscriptions, renewal prices and account ownership |
| Handover | Administrator access, documentation, training and maintenance terms |
Separate one-time work from recurring costs and list exclusions. Ask how changes are estimated and approved. Treat a currency-converted foreign quote as that supplier’s offer, not evidence of a local market average.
Before accepting the build, use our WordPress handover and maintenance checklist to request an asset register, recovery instructions and named operating responsibilities. Those deliverables make the handover and maintenance lines in a quote reviewable.
Check hosting and maintenance details
Managed hosting can reduce some operational work, but the word managed does not establish exactly who patches plugins, checks backups or handles an incident. Ask for those responsibilities in writing. A VPS is not automatically faster or safer than another hosting model.
SSL certificates and CDN services may be available without a separate fee, depending on the provider and plan. Confirm the service configuration and support rather than assuming that a paid line item is always necessary or that a free feature needs no setup.
Keep the plugin set appropriate to the actual requirements. Plugin count alone is not a reliable measure of security or speed; maintenance status, implementation and measured behaviour matter.
Include data handling in the scope
Map contact forms, analytics and third-party services. Set access and retention rules for the data the site actually processes. Singapore does not provide a blanket PDPA right to demand deletion in every circumstance. Consent withdrawal and retention obligations need to be considered according to their applicable rules; see the Singapore Government’s explanation of deletion requests.
Confirm current commercial terms
Consider two fictional MYR quotations, used only to explain comparison. A quotes MYR 5,000 for setup and MYR 600 for first-year hosting, but excludes content entry and paid licences. B quotes MYR 6,800 including setup, agreed content entry and first-year hosting, while licence renewal remains unconfirmed. A’s known subtotal is MYR 5,600; it is not yet a comparable complete total. Ask A to price the same content work and both suppliers to identify licences, maintenance and renewal before ranking them. These figures are not Nodesify packages or Singapore market averages.
Nodesify’s two WordPress starting scopes are business website—agreed pages, content placement, navigation and enquiry flow—and online store—agreed catalogue, product, checkout and order journey. The canonical service page holds current prices and package boundaries. Custom plugins, unusual checkout rules and uploads beyond the agreed package need separate scope; a five-page illustration does not create an extra allowance.
When comparing Singapore quotes, request the same line-item scope from every supplier: page count and content entry, theme or custom design, form and analytics setup, hosting account, plugin licences, training, launch support and renewal charges. Mark excluded work and the currency of each charge. A low setup figure without the first year’s operating cost is not a comparable total. This is a quotation worksheet, not a Singapore market-rate survey.
Nodesify’s WordPress business and e-commerce setup prices are listed on the WordPress service page. These packages remain separate from a custom Zen-based operational system. Their MYR base prices are supplier offers; any SGD display is an indicative conversion, not a Singapore market average or a guaranteed settlement rate.
The business setup includes package hosting and one year of scoped maintenance. Confirm the tasks, limits and renewal terms in the proposal. Optional technical support has a defined monthly allowance excluding servers; annual hosting/basic maintenance is independently quoted. Additional work requires an estimate and written approval. Current support options and prices distinguish infrastructure care from engineering work, with hosting and vendor bills separate unless the particular package expressly includes them.
Ask for a written total covering implementation, applicable taxes, third-party charges and recurring renewals. Paid discovery is optional when the requirements are already clear. Where discovery is agreed and credited toward a build, the milestone schedule counts it once within the complete project total.
Our WordPress development service can be scoped around your editing, integration and operating needs. For an existing site, the maintenance guide explains issues to investigate before deciding whether to repair or rebuild.
Frequently asked questions
What changes when we need a store rather than content pages?
Product data, variations, shipping/tax decisions, gateway readiness, order states and refund handling join the scope. Verify the merchant and integration prerequisites before treating checkout as another ordinary page.
How do we compare MYR and SGD quotes?
Preserve original currency amounts, use an explicit conversion source/date for planning, and identify actual settlement, tax and transaction terms. An indicative conversion is not a guaranteed payable SGD amount.
What must be ready before scheduling can be committed?
Provide approved copy/images, page or product inventory, legal content, domain/access arrangements and one feedback owner. Stores also need approved operational rules and gateway readiness. Record unresolved dependencies instead of starting a delivery clock from an incomplete brief.
