Legacy Modernization

Modernize Your Existing Software

Upgrade or migrate your application in manageable phases. We review its dependencies, data, and running costs, then agree a path that fits your operations.

Sample scope in English

Choose what to keep before replacing the system

Unsupported dependencies, manual exports or fragile connections make ordinary changes difficult. Compare maintenance, refactoring, an API boundary and replacement.

Keep a stable system under a support scope when bounded fixes address the problem. An audit can establish the evidence needed for a migration quote.Compare the options

What you receive

  • Inventory of retained/replaced components and dependencies.
  • An agreed phased boundary, reconciliation checks and cutover plan.
  • Named acceptance, deployment and rollback decision owners.

What to prepare

  • Source rights, hosting, licences, integration owners and current documentation.
  • Data mappings, preserved business rules and a cleanup owner.
  • Critical dates, operating constraints and accepted rollback conditions.

Agreed separately

  • Missing access or source rights can prevent a takeover or change the feasible scope.
  • Unbounded feature requests and an ongoing modernization backlog are separate from a component project.
  • Third-party changes, parallel running and observation windows must be agreed.

Illustrative sequence: map dependencies → keep existing data ownership → trial an isolated replacement → reconcile agreed records/balances → authorize cutover → decide when to retire the old component.

Acceptance example. The buyer approves mapping and cleanup rules. Trial results meet agreed record/balance checks. The cutover owner can identify when to pause or roll back and who monitors both systems.

Do we have to replace everything?

No. Keeping stable components may be the appropriate decision. Scope from the problem, access constraints and dependency evidence rather than a preference for a new stack.

What if the former supplier cannot help?

Record source, account, data and licence ownership first. Missing rights or access are evidence gaps, not promises that can be bypassed.

Can the old and new systems run in parallel?

Assess that option from the data flow and operating constraints. Agree which system accepts writes, how records are reconciled, who monitors exceptions, the observation window and the cutover or rollback decision. Parallel running adds work and infrastructure cost; it is included only when the proposal defines it.

Can we add new features during modernization?

Record new features separately from the behavior being preserved. Assess their effect on mappings, acceptance checks, timing and rollback before approval. A phased proposal can include a defined feature, but modernization is not an unlimited feature backlog.

Modernization Expertise

Choose what to retain, improve, or replace.

Code Refactoring & Rewrite

Improve the structure of existing code or rewrite components where needed. Choose technologies such as React, Next.js, or Go around the application and your maintenance needs.

Cloud Migration

Review hosting, dependencies, and data access before planning a migration. Compare implementation and ongoing costs before approving the move.

API Integration & Middleware

Connect existing systems to new tools through agreed APIs, with explicit data ownership and error handling.

Process

Our Modernization Approach

Review the current system, migrate in phases, and verify the release before retiring old components.

01

Code Audit & Feasibility

We analyze your current stack, dependencies, and business logic.

  • Architecture blueprint and risk assessment.
02

Phased Migration

Replace one component at a time while retaining the workflows you still need. Agree downtime, rollback, and cutover responsibilities.

  • Phased rollout plan.
03

Testing & Cutover

Check critical workflows and reconcile migrated data before approving cutover.

  • Acceptance records and cutover checklist.
