Technology and project scope

React & Next.js

A customer portal with sign-in, individual records and interactive tasks.

The detailed guidance and illustrative examples below are in English. All example business records are fictional.

Where React & Next.js fits

A customer portal with sign-in, individual records and interactive tasks.

When to choose another approach

A brochure site may need a simpler content system. The framework does not supply your permissions or editor.

Worked example and evidence

Fictional parts supplier: a buyer views only their orders and requests a delivery change. Staff edit delivery guidance in an agreed content editor, while order changes follow approval rules.

What you need to supply

Roles, anonymized orders, identity provider, existing APIs and a list of editable content.

What acceptance should demonstrate

Buyer A cannot read buyer B’s orders. Staff can update guidance. Retrying a failed submission does not create duplicate requests.

Running costs and responsibilities

Assign hosting, identity charges, dependency upgrades and content review to named owners.

Technical scope to confirm

Authentication, sessions and authorization are separate concerns. Data access needs server-side checks.

A proposal should identify the systems and data, direction of sync, access feasibility, failure handling, named owners and included deliverables. Listing this technology does not imply a prebuilt connector, vendor partnership or included feature.

What can staff edit themselves?

Only the fields and pages included in the editor scope. Layout, permissions and new workflows require development unless an editing tool is explicitly delivered.
