Frontend
Frontend Engineer (Astro/React)
Contract · Remote — Southeast Asia
Base salary: MYR 4,000.00 – MYR 6,000.00 per month
About the role
Applications close on 31 December 2026 at 11:59 PM Malaysia time (UTC+8).
Join Nodesify on a one-year, project-based contract to build web interfaces for owned products and future scoped projects, including marketing sites, customer portals, and internal business systems. Nodesify is building its client portfolio. This vacancy is not evidence of an already staffed delivery team or confirmed client work.
What you will do
- Build high-performance interfaces with Astro, Next.js, and React, shipping statically-generated and server-rendered pages with excellent Core Web Vitals.
- Implement accessible, responsive UI with Tailwind CSS and a shared design system.
- Integrate headless CMS platforms (Payload CMS) and third-party APIs (Stripe, payment gateways, CRM systems).
- Review code and uphold quality standards across the squad.
What we look for
- Practical frontend engineering experience with React or an equivalent modern framework.
- Production experience with TypeScript, modern CSS, and performance budgets.
- Comfortable owning delivery directly with clients — no account-manager layer.
- Bonus: Astro experience, SEO implementation experience, e-commerce builds.
How we work
This role is fully remote. Applicants may be based in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam.
This is a one-year contract for project-based delivery, with a Malaysian-registered hub. You will work with the project team on implementation, review, and delivery milestones.
A representative piece of work
Discuss how you would build an accessible request-and-approval screen: a labelled form, loading and failure states, keyboard navigation, role-specific actions and a documented API boundary. This is an illustrative discussion topic, not an unpaid client assignment. Zen and ResumeForU show our owned-product context.
We look for clear reasoning, readable code, responsive behavior and a usable handover. Share public work or an example you have permission to disclose. Do not submit confidential employer or client code. Any assessment task, expected effort and compensation arrangements must be stated before you choose to participate.
